Observation

On June 8, after reviewing child to staff ratio charts provided by the center director, licensor Angela Wendt noted that several classrooms were inadequately staffed during naptime. Director Neysa Herndandez stated that this occurred in order to provide staff lunch breaks. On June 9, during an on-site visit, Licensor Angela Wendt, Licensor Julia Dunham and Supervisor Kandi Latimer observed 1 preschool classroom with 11 children and 1 staff. A toddler classroom was observed to have 8 children with 1 staff. Director Neysa Hernandez moved children to an alternate class to meet ratio. During the same visit, infant room #2 was observed to have 5 toddlers and 3 infants with 2 staff. The toddlers were ages 13-14 months of age, center staff explained there was no space to move the children into the toddler classroom with children over 12 months of age.
